Not quite a 4, because I know I watched another documentary on this once that was better, but still worthy of a watch for anyone who’s a true crime fanatic. It’s only 3 episodes and feels like it moves pretty quick.

This took place in my hometown, so I'm biased in terms of being interested. But it takes a look at the influence of the internet and mental health in teens.

In South Africa, a well known doctor and influencer helps a convicted rapist and murderer escape from prison and they go on the run together. Interesting enough to watch a modern Bonnie and Clyde!

Guess what? Nobody tells you what's wrong with Aunt Diane.

An average true crime doc set in the Pacific Northwest thta covers the crimes occurring along Highway 20 between the 70s and 90s. Not bad, not great!

I started this on a plane years ago and finally finished it. It's an interesting look at the Golden State Killer case and true crime author Michelle McNamara, who fought to catch him. Didn't fully hold my interest at times, but I did like it.

This one is disturbing and infuriating. I actually watched this back in 2020, but must've blocked it from memory. TW for child abuse.

This was a really interesting perspective — usually it’s the victims’ families, not the killer’s family. If you like true crime, I think this one would be a good watch.

Told entirely through bodycam footage, this documentary covers a neighborhood dispute that ends in murder. It takes a hard look at fear, bias, prejudice, and Stand Your Ground laws, and I can't stop thinking about it. One of the best I've seen.

A behind-the-scenes look at the mistreatment and systemic violence inflicted upon inmates in the Alabama prison system, captured through contraband cellphone footage from prisoners. It's the sort of film that makes you wanna take action, but no idea how.

The story of a family funeral business with a dark secret. I thought the first two episodes were really interesting, third one was okay. But I'm pretty sure that guy should not be out on parole...

I personally admire Jacinda Ardern, and appreciate how she led New Zealand during the pandemic, so I thoroughly enjoyed this one. More women should be in charge.

A young British girl goes missing in Tokyo, and the quest to find her uncovers a number of other victims. It's interesting enough, but definitely one you can half pay attention to.

I watched this on 9/11, which maybe wasn’t the best idea in retrospect. But it’s a really interesting look behind the scenes at catching Bin Laden and the people who made it happen. WAY better than Zero Dark Thirty, which is one of the worst movies I've ever seen.

A teen and her boyfriend receive harassing text messages for over a year, and the culprit ends up being someone super close to them. Without spoiling it, everything about this is pretty fucked up.

I remember watching Katrina on the news, but this documentary really opened my eyes to so much I didn't know about the lack of preparedness and how unfairly the Black community was treated in the aftermath. Absolutely worth a watch.

I watched all 3 episodes without going on my phone, but I was filled with rage afterward. Fuck the producers of this show, and fuck Bob, too.

I grew up on Martha Stewart, but I didn’t know *half* of what was in the documentary. I’ve heard horror stories from people who worked with/for her, but she is unapologetically herself, and I honestly love that about her. I have so much respect for her after watching this one! Really great!
