Labour and Co-operative Party councillor for Lemington ward on Newcastle City Council 🌹 NUFC fan ⬛️⬜️ UNISON and USDAW member ✊️L(G)BT+ 🏳️‍🌈 He/Him
Angela has been an incredible deputy prime minister, and a personal inspiration to me as a fellow working class lad from a council estate. I'm sad to see her go... But true to her values she's done the honourable thing by accepting her mistakes & resigned, unlike what we saw from the last Government

Today was a special day, my niece Anna was Christened at St Mary's Church. My grandma, as is traditional in my family, made the cake, the topper is the same one that was on my Christening cake and the rest of the family who were born after me. This little touch made the day even more special.

I had an amazing morning at the Holy Saviour, Sugley summer fayre with Chi Onwurah MP. I always love seeing the community come together and attending community events like this one is by far the best part of being a councillor.

Recently a resident on Montague Street contacted me about this grassed area in need of attention following the illegal dumping of garden waste. My ward colleague and I arranged for the council to clear the area, it looks so much better! Hopefully the grass will now have a good chance of regrowing.

I am devastated to say that after 16 happy years we said our final goodbyes to our beautiful Keira earlier today. She was the most gentle, loving, and softest dog I've ever met. She now joins her best mate Kazz over the rainbow. Love you always Keekie, sleep well 🙏🌈

Students from Lemington Riverside Primary School recently contacted me about dog poo so I launched a poster competition. On Friday I was delighted to visit the school once again to present winners Zaima & Taha with certificates and a goodie bag. Their posters are now displayed across the ward.

In May I was honoured to have been elected as councillor for Lemington and have had a brilliant time getting stuck in to improve life in Lemington Ward.

As 2024 ends I want to take this opportunity to wish everyone in Lemington and the wider city a very Happy New Year and all the best for 2025!

This evening I attended the Holy Saviour church carol service followed by a Christmas light show in Bells Close.

Huge thank you to Lesley and Beverley Murray who put on an incredible show every year for charity. Their last show will be on Christmas Eve at 6pm.

Today Santa visited Lemington ahead of his big journey on Christmas Eve. If you haven't been to Lepidina Close yet I'd highly recommend it, as usual they've put on an incredible lights display for charity. Thanks also to the volunteers at 'A December Night to Remember' for arranging Santa's tour

The weather didn't dampen spirits at Holy Saviour, Sugley this morning for their Christmas Fayre. Cllr. Barry Phillipson and I attended along with @chionwurah.bsky.social and had a brilliant time. Thank you to Revd Neil Heslop and the wonderful parish volunteers.

This evening at council I asked the Cabinet member for Economy, Jobs & Skills about plans to help the new Labour Government achieve their pledge to double the size of the Co-operatives sector. It was reassuring to hear about the ongoing work and future plans.
