I loved this arc as well. Early b&w TMNT was so good.

The original GI Joe comics that were better than they had any right to be for a toy marketing tie-in (to 10 year old me).

As I got a bit older, Give Me Liberty, b&w TMNT and early Dark Horse anything.

I get what you're saying, but it's sad that so many people see "the Internet" as only the top 5-10 biggest corporate-owned websites.

I get why, everyone's there so you gotta be too, but that was never the vision we had back in the 90s and early 00s..

That was basically BBSes in the 80s and 90s. If all the phone lines were busy, you had to try again later. And most only had 1 line.

Also I don’t know about you but both my creativity and productivity go through up/down cycles and I’ve had to learn to recognize when the “ups” line up and seize that opportunity.

Trying to do anything when they are both down is a bad time for me.

I know I sometimes wonder how some people maintain such high output in the OSS community.

I love to code but I have other responsibilities too so I can’t only do that.

It feels like a form of FOMO? I've had the same feeling over the years, I used to be a heads-down developer (for 15 yrs) and now I haven't written a line of code at work in years.

But I've learned other skills that my employer values more, and coding is back to being a hobby. I still worry tho.

Yeah the federation has to be near-invisible for most users. It has to “just work” and feel like one network even if the moderation and algorithm varies from network to network.

I suggested a few days back that we might see some DMZ-like interconnections between sub-networks, maybe each side gets to set a threshold for what content makes it through (async moderation).

It will be tough to figure out, particularly where values don’t align.
