Lunch at the irresistibly charming Tuck Box in Carmel.
A very charming small cottage with rounded asymmetric doors and windows, and a red and white striped awning over the bay window. It was the perfect day for a cup of tea. English breakfast. Teapot and cup containing tea with milk. The two ladies at the next table told us we had to have the scone. We did. We appreciated their advice. It came with housemaid ollolieberry jam and orange marmalade, and clotted cream. A lovely BLT on whole wheat with fruit salad. And more clotted cream.

At Troya on Cannery Row —Turkish coffee, absurdly expensive lokum (Turkish delight) which is the best I’ve ever had so worth it, and a Turkish coffee cup set I’m still trying not to buy. 😬
A small cup of foamy Turkish coffee, a piece of chocolate-pomegranate-pistachio lokum, and a small glass of cold water. About a pound and a half of various lokum in a box; on the inside is the lid it says “Troya - History and Benefits of Turkish Delight” plus a couple paragraphs of really tiny type. A white cup with a god handle and a blue eyeball design on a cobalt blue saucer with a gold daisy pattern on it.

The outside of The Whisky Club in downtown Monterey, CA About 1/3 of the shelves behind and above the bar, five levels of whisk(e)y. An Aberfeldy tour - 12 year, 16 year, and they were out of the 18 so they subbed in a Glenfiddich 18 (Oloroso sherry and Bourbon casks). The theee bottles are behind three Glencairn glasses in a wooden base for the flight.

Required stop for lunch at Tita’s Pupuseria y Lonchera. Pupusa revuelta (pork & cheese), tacos de pollo y al pastor.
