hopefully my son forgives me. i tried everything to give him what the outside world would call the “perfect life”.

perfect doesn’t exist; the best that i can do is what he’s getting. and it’s WAY better than a lot. i’m satisfied.

i’m no longer afraid of losing people.
i’m better than i was that first time i met nancy. i’m better than i was an hour ago.

i’m just better now, and if the only person i can enjoy this peace with is my son, then i’m okay with that.
