SONIC: [Mumbled speech]
- Shadow glances behind him with pain in his eyes. Rouge looks concerned and her ear is twitching.
SHADOW: I wouldn’t wish that fate on anyone…
SHADOW: … And for it to happen to them –
ROUGE: Wait. Wait, stop talking.
SONIC: … deta shor Zuurm.
- Rouge looks terrified, hearing what Shadow cannot.
ROUGE: D-do you hear that?
SHADOW: All I hear is us and the radio.
SONIC: Y'Gaar shor guul…
- Sonic has twisted his torso and head around to stare directly at Shadow, who faces forward but is glances behind him. His eyes still look dull and glazed.

- Shadow looks through the bars at Rouge with a personal sort of offense in his eyes.

SHADOW: He should know that he killed his friend, it’s his right to –
ROUGE: Friend?
ROUGE: You think Tails was just one of Sonic’s friends?
- Shadow now looks like he’s been emotionally hit by a train.
ROUGE: Tails and Sonic were brothers.
- Shadow is now in a black void. He wears the same expression.

- Shadow is the same. The “ghost” of Maria is in view, behind Shadow.
SHADOW: … Never paid much attention to…

SHADOW: Your shoulder’s hurt.
- Rouge jerks hand away from bad shoulder
ROUGE: My shoulder’s what? My shoulder’s fine. Why’s Sonic here?
SHADOW: I’ll tell you after you tell me about your shoulder.
SHADOW: I hurt it, didn’t I. In the Med Bay.
- Shadow is looking pretty upset and Rouge is looking angry and defensive.
ROUGE: You didn’t do anything.
SHADOW: That blood was yours.
ROUGE: You didn’t do anything!
SHADOW: … You said we’d face this together.
ROUGE: YOU –
- Flashback. Shadow is coming at Rouge in Med Bay with Chaos Spear while Rouge has her combat knife in her other hand to defend.
- Present day. Rouge looking upset, she’s back to clutching that injured shoulder.
ROUGE: – It… Wasn’t you. I don’t know what it was but…
ROUGE: … It wasn’t you.

- Shadow is tearing up, stares in disbelief at the off-panel bat.
SHADOW: I-I thought…!
RADIO: Do you wanna hear about the deal – KRSHK – making? (Yeah, yeah, yo)
- Shadow wipes at his eyes.
RADIO [SFX]: You… It's you and me
SHADOW: Ahrm. Hm.
SHADOW: The med bay. I don’t know what happened.
SHADOW: For whatever I did, I’m sorry.
- Rouge's gaze is on the soldier shouting at her off-panel.
RADIO: And if I only could, I'd make a deal w– SSVVT –d I'd get him to swap our places
ROUGE: I guess that means you’re back to normal –

- Two G.U.N. soldiers (that were driving the PTV) usher Sonic and Shadow into their new cell. Sonic is still dazed while Shadow looks resigned to his fate.

- Shades Soldier slams the cell door closed. Mask Soldier calls out to a third soldier poking her head out of a door a bit behind them.
SFX: SLAM!

- Shadow stands looking sad, turned slightly away from bars. Sonic has his back fully turned towards bars and is leaning his body fully against wall.

- A shower head sprays water down.

- A drain. Streaks and coagulated chunks of blood swirl down it.
SFX: SSSSSSSS
- Sonic is still in his stupor in the shower. His gaze remains an unfocused downward direction. The water has gotten the blood off of him
SFX: SSSSSSSS
- Beside Sonic is Shadow, who is also getting washed off and has been staring at Sonic with a disturbed (but serious) look on his face the whole time.
SFX: SSSSSSSS
- Shadow’s eyes now switch their attention to something behind both himself and Sonic.
SFX: SSSSSSSS
- Wide shot of Sonic and Shadow in the prison showers completely surrounded by countless G.U.N. soldiers, all pointing guns at them and keeping very close watch on the two hedgehogs. Shadow stares directly at them while Sonic remains semi-conscious and keeps his head down. They remain fully clothed and in cuffs.

- Ivan is on the ground and Sonic on top of him. Sonic and Ivan are staring up, unnerved. Sonic is still bleeding from his neck.
SONIC: What the heck is goin’ on – ?
- Sonic seizes up and his eyes have rolled into his head. The entire background says “Y'Gaar shor guul deta shor Zuurm.”
SONIC: – Hk.
Sonic falls off of Ivan onto his back, his face contorted into a mask of pain as his blank white eyes stare down the reader. Ivan scrambles to get away from him, horrified by what he’s seeing.
SONIC: Hh.
SONIC: Hk.
IVAN: Yobanyy v rot…!
- Multiple Zuurm babies land on Ivan. A nightmarish number. Ivan is overcome with fear.

- Sonic’s expression is a shocked grimace as he suffers the worst bug bite of his life.
SONIC: NGH!
- Sonic smacks at his neck with mostly annoyance and a hint of alarm. His eyes are off of Ivan.
SONIC: Wuh-what the heck bit me?!
SONIC: I’m tryna work here!
- Sonic's neck has started to seep some blood. He has spotted Ivan far back, in the middle of running away.
SONIC: Hey!
- Sonic slams into Ivan with a homing attack, knocking him clean onto his front.
SONIC: I’m not done with you!

- Sonic is on all fours like a predator. He’s staring the elephant down.
SONIC: You’re a murderer. Plain and simple.
