The political system here is inherntly unbalanced. New York City has roughly 7x the population of Montana, yet New York and Montana both have 2 senators. And the senate can basically stop anything. And then there's the Electoral College. The system was designed for the 18th century.

Wyoming has about 577,000 people and two US senators. DC has has close to 700,000 people and ZERO US senators. And then there's the electoral college. For things to change, change would have to be supported by the people who benefit the most from the current system. It won't happen in our lifetimes.

As a Leverkusen fan 2024 was very special. I'm from Philadelphia and "of a certain age" so I've seen all my teams win titles. But I don't remember ever feeling such euphoria as when when the Werkself clinched the title. And you really were there telling that story all season, thank you.
