I just find Sterns approach interesting when compared to what Friedman did after moving from a small market team to a super market one.

He prob would’ve gotten a bigger deal if his agent knew how to properly read the market…

Yea but the team’s partners and bondholders are happy so it’s good.

Let’s have Jazz play 3rd in deference to DJLM, who, apparently, can barely walk without getting hurt
July 13, 2025 at 8:49 PM
Always trying to be the smartest guys in the room rather than take clear Ws. Let’s move Gleyber back to SS. Let’s move IKF back to SS. Let’s move adujar to the OF. Let’s jump Peraza b/c Volpe had a good spring training again Vets tuning up and March AA pitchers.
July 13, 2025 at 8:48 PM
What they’re should’ve done 3 years ago and move him to 2nd where his below average arm is mitigated and he could’ve profiled as a contact first slap hitter rather than trying to hit everything over the fence. But if the Yankees do anything at a high level it’s mess up young infielders’ development

When he makes*
July 13, 2025 at 8:44 PM
Remember when the *owner* unfairly trashed Jeter for spending too much time out on the town when he was in a minor slump and Jeter took it and continued to be a great player? Now, the manager can’t even criticize Volpe he makes objectively bad decisions and plays.
July 13, 2025 at 8:44 PM
I am actually not shocked the Yankees messed with a young player’s development by forcing him to play one spot when he’s better suited for another. We’ve seen it happen time and time again. Saw it with Gleyber, Andujar, and Dominguez (who seems to have turned the corner at LF).
July 13, 2025 at 8:42 PM
Yep. I don’t understand why the team seems to view sending him to AAA to work on his approach and defense as a fate worse than death. Plenty of guys go back down and get better. He needs to really concentrate on making conscious changes to his approach. Hard to do at the MLB level.
July 13, 2025 at 8:39 PM
And Peraza has not hit and may never be an MLB level player but we’ve watched Volpe not hit for 2.5 years now. I’m not sure what the downside is at the moment other than you’d have a good defender at SS.
July 13, 2025 at 8:16 PM
Been trying to tell em for 2 years now. Just not an MLB caliber player and promoting him/propping him up regardless how his play hasn’t helped with that. Why would he not play hero ball or continue to have a terrible approach at the plate when he knows he’s in the lineup no matter what?
July 13, 2025 at 8:14 PM
They’ll use any excuse they can find for not letting their best defensive SS play SS, just like with IKF.
July 13, 2025 at 8:12 PM
Yep and totally on brand for him. Just not a smart player. Shows it time and time again. But when you’re lauded regardless of your mistakes, that’s what happens.
June 14, 2025 at 3:24 AM
He’s just not a smart player. It’s very clear. He continually does dumb things. Can’t be an intangibles and defense guy and do this crap.
June 14, 2025 at 3:23 AM
Yet it seems to somehow account for 115% of the frustration…

The difference in quality of 80s and 90s sitcoms compared to later 00s and 10s sitcoms is amazingly stark given how they’re how limited in depth sitcoms are by design.

Barely*
April 23, 2025 at 6:45 PM
Yep. Especially when compared to how they never gave Peraza any sort of real run. Even when IKF was terrible or when Volpe had barreled played above AA. Completely opposite treatment.
April 23, 2025 at 6:45 PM
Was ready to dump on it in revenge for making us wait so long but…the first 3 episodes were 🔥
April 23, 2025 at 5:58 PM
Glad we burned Peraza’s entire development and passed on Seager for this. It’s almost as if propping Volpe up the last 3 years despite clearly not producing at an MLB level wasn’t ideal for developing a hitting approach.
April 23, 2025 at 5:57 PM
This whole thing is a very good litmus test for whether commentators have actually watched the tape or not.
March 25, 2025 at 1:39 AM
He was a true freshman but you’ll likely be looking at his tape in a couple of years. Coaching staff raves about him. Had him playing RB this past spring when team was thin there. He’s a bigger TE/HB version of Deebo Samuel.

55 of Darnold’s career starts came at ages 21-25 under 1 year of Bowles, 2 years of Gase, and 1.5 years of Rhule (prior to be fired mid-season). They’re just not comparable to those in Geno’s 3rd and 4th full seasons as a starter at age 32-33 under a head coach who is 50 games over .500.
