Sarah and Michael Save Christmas

A podcast where married duo Michael and Sarah watch the strangest Christmas TV they can find.
Christmas Wedding Planner (2017) - a wedding planner in the middle of planning her cousin’s wedding is enlisted by a private detective to take down her cousin’s fiance who is not what he seems perhaps. And at the same time as all this, it’s Christmas.

Ms Scrooge (1997) - a retelling of a Christmas Carol starring titan on the stage and screen, Cicely Tyson. I understand that in this version Scrooge’s meanness is, in part, a reaction to systemic racism which will be interesting to see play out. Ghosts can’t fix racism, you see.

The Mean One (2022) - as I’m sure you can guess, a horror movie based on the Grinch Who Stole Christmas.

Santa Claws (2014) - the traditional creature feature of 12HoC. When Santa suffers an “allergic reaction” while flying his sleigh, it’s up to a little of kittens on board to save the day 🤷🏻‍♀️ Is the allergic reaction to the cats or something else? I can’t wait to find out.

Snow (2004) - another “I’m Santa’s child and I’m taking over the family business but I’m not ready” movie, dated by the inclusion of Tom Cavanagh (who was already well past peak fame in 2004 imho) and the woman who played Victoria in How I Met Your Mother.

A Karate Christmas Miracle (2019) - A kid believes his missing dad will come back if he gets his black belt (been there). When I told Michael Eric Roberts is in this he said “fuck yes”, when I went on to say the opening credits were in Papyrus he said “FUCK YES!!”

Uncle Nick (2015) - Brian Posehn tries to fuck his step-niece at Christmas. This is the reason we’re not going through with our “all Christmas Carol remakes” idea this year - I couldn’t wait another year to watch this.
