Happy #WorldWildlifeDay. A friendly reminder that livestock cannot replace native biodiversity, despite what you may have heard.

#BeachesEastYork, today is the last day to advance vote. I went last night, and it took just a few minutes. We are so lucky to have an amazing candidate in @DrKateTO to vote for. So beat the Eday rush and vote for Kate today!

On #WorldCancerDay I'm finally being released from the hospital after being admitted w/ a fever due to my low white blood cell counts. I don't know how I'm going to get through my chemo w/ my 8 & 11 yr olds bringing in all sorts of things circulating in schools. Please @fordnation, #CleanTheAir

.@WWFCanada HBs are livestock which are not only thriving & among the more common species world wide but they are a threat to native beess through competition & disease transmission. They have travelled w/ colonists & should not be sold as wildlife sp. of concern.

My friends convinced me that I should take advantage of being on a ton of pain meds by getting some tattoos. Some are native plants I like, some are sentimental. I love it. #MidlifeCrisis #BotanicalArt

Here's an example of an ENGO not thinking about the broader picture, other movements & science when launching a new pollinator initiative. Lights harm moths, migrating birds, fireflies & other wildlife. We should not be encouraging more lights, esp in the name of pollinators

Love getting emails like this. Kate Allen, the @TorontoStar Science Reporter, did such a service for native bees there. It's an opportunity missed by @nytimes time and time again.
