We were invited to give a West Nose Creek tour for the area’s teachers and administrators with the CBE. Lucked out to have @klaszus.bsky.social from @sprawlcalgary.bsky.social bring his mobile printing press to give the groups a print of the 1943 picture of the Beddington Erratic. #SaveNoseCreek

IT'S WHITE SUCKER SPAWNING SEASON! We were lucky enough to have Freshwater Conservation Canada on our Jane's Walk last week. They are spawning now until the long weekend. Grab some polarized sunglasses and you could see them clearly in the creek. #SaveNoseCreek #SNCfish #yyc #Airdrie #Balzac #abpoli

We joined another Jane’s Walk in the Nose Creek Watershed this afternoon. The buried Confederation Creek flows into a channeled part of Nose Creek. Big contrast to this morning’s finds but did see spawning White Suckers! #RaiseConfederationCreek #SaveNoseCreek #JanesWalkYYC #yyc

Good turnout tonight at the Final Draft Aurora ASP. We still believe we should push the Green Space boundary to the southern road. Once you develop it there’s no going back. Let’s not have any regrets. Virtual Engagement is on May 1. #SpeakForNoseCreek #yyc #yyccc

The previous post inspired other Creek-Heads to send us their observations. This is video of a Hibernaculum in the West Nose Creek Valley. Hibernaculums in Alberta require a buffer between 200m-500m. #SaveNoseCreek #yyc

SLITHERING SATURDAY: The Plains Garter Snake is out enjoying the warmer weather! Watch for them in the Nose Creek Coulees. They are "live bearing" snakes, they don’t lay eggs. They can also swim to escape predators. #SaveNoseCreek #SNCwildlife #Snakes

The “Dead Marshes” of Nose Creek. Did you know that Coventry Hills has a Naturalized Stormwater Marsh Area? It’s designed to help filter the storm waters before it reaches Nose Creek. We sometimes get Boreal Chorus Frogs in this marsh. #SaveNoseCreek #DeadMarshes #yyc #LOTR
