Because she was drunk as a skunk

Oh sure, like how the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea is a democracy

In retrospect I think this article was prescient. That a republican would win 2024 was baked in, and it’s kind of amazing Harris got as close as she did

2024 Election Environment Favorable to GOP
Most key measures of the political environment for the 2024 election favor the Republican Party over the Democratic Party.

Under Lesson 5: Don’t Lose Momentum

Interesting!

Kind of a niche figure. I don’t think my boomer dad knows who he is and he’s a R Crumb fan

I’m old but I think pop culture is actually getting better over time

Yeah, like K-pop Demon Hunters, which combines the best features of both

It looked interesting, but I had to abandon reading it due to the author’s refusal to capitalize the beginning of his sentences.

When the Trump does it, that means it’s not socialism

I’m fine with that. Cleaning the little rollers with a q-tip dipped in rubbing alcohol is a chore I can do without

We have voice computers, they’re called smart speakers. I use mine to play music, time multiple cooking things in the kitchen, and that’s it.

Fun how the gif works in preview then turns into a static picture when posted

Huh? Whether web app or native that’s all front end. Either one would use the same backend which is where the AWS cost comes from

I’m not “carrying water,” I’m doing arithmetic. The math just isn’t there to support your conclusions.

I agree that making materials cost more for no good reason and deporting our construction labor force is not going to go well for housing construction goals. Trump should be in prison, not the WH

There’s maybe 200 Saudi princes with real money and about 1800 billionaires in the United States.

Even if each of them owned 15 homes in the US and kept them vacant, that’s like 30,000 homes. That’s nothing compared to the 140+ million homes in the US, or even the over half a million for sale.
July 26, 2025 at 11:48 PM
The article doesn’t provide evidence one way or another regarding occupancy of investor owned properties, nor does it distinguish between homes owned by corporate investors vs. individual investors
July 26, 2025 at 11:00 PM
Houses were relatively cheaper because there were more homes being built relative to the demand for homes.

Over the past five decades anti-growth regulations constrained the ability of people to build homes in in-demand areas.

You bring the price down by allowing people to build more homes.

I agree with other poster. I’m not sure where you’re going with this either

Gotta get that big tax cut through to make the 2017 cuts permanent.

Now that that’s finished, Capital is done with Tariff Boy
