World Bipolar Day is comming soon. But is van Gogh a real bipolar? That it is not a mistake to call him a bipolar. But it seems to be stretching a point a bit. He may have suffered from epilepcy and/or schizophrenia. These disorders are intricate and it is not always easy to make clear distinctions.

Bipolar disorder patients with Bulgada syndrom are sometimes said to have higher risk of heart strokes with lithium. I'm not sure this is 100 % valid but my medical dr. stopped that substance.

Is association of bipilar disorder and Bulgada syndrome well accepted world-wide? I stopped taking lithium with this reason anyway.

Bipolar disorder is no exchange of mania and depression. It is an unstable tag-of-war between mania and depression which always coexist. That's why the disorder is essentially instability typically observed as mixed state.
