Its even wilder when its totally different genres too, makes me feel like the author somehow referenced it for me lol.

I'm grateful my older brother showed me it when I was young. Still quote certain lines from it to each other. I definitely need to read through them again

Not enough people know about Johnny. Wish it got the love it deserves. The usage of hooks, in a horror setting, certainly makes me think of hellraiser first. The timeline would also line up for it to be a possible influence
