My brother could never visit my mother without her complaining that his shirt was awful or his hair needed a good cut. He was always so gracious about it, and now that she’s gone he’s awfully glad he was.

I’ve given many of my knitted baby blankets to the intended recipient knowing each and every imperfection. My mother ( a crocheter, not a knitter) told me years ago that every imperfection is just a personalization of the pattern, the yarn, the stitch size. It helps.

My parents used to make peanut brittle every year around this time. Ma died this Fall just before her 96th birthday. Thanks for a sweet reminder.

Thank you for your disclaimer (NO A.I.,etc). Because photo “tricks” have so skewed reality, I’ve nearly lost interest in viewing photos online. I appreciate knowing what I’m looking at.

So sorry for your loss. We lost our wonderful, ornery corgi, Winnie, to cancer a few years and miss her everyday. It’s so hard to lose someone whom you’ve seen everyday for 10 or 11 or 12 years. People who don’t own pets find this hard to understand.

My corgi, Winifred/Winnie died of cancer a few years ago and though I now have a new pet whom I love very much, I still miss Winnie every day.
