#SmallGameStudio also a huge shoutout to Tuukka from the video game music class for the amazing soundtrack and effects they did for the game 🤩

#SmallGameStudio while coding was by far the hardest past making all the assets was definitely also really time consuming. All in all making games is hard lol. But it is rewarding seeing the end product.

#SmallGameStudio there’s still things I would want to change or add to my game but it probably wasn’t possible for the time and abilities I had. I was able to add in a few small worldbuilding items/interactions to flesh out the game tho which im happy with

#SmallGameStudio Oops, Wrong House! Is now available to play on itch! This was my final project and tbh it was very stressful to put together but I’m happy I was able to do it.

Play it here: caterpilll.itch.io/oops-wrong-h...

#SmallGameStudio So I still haven't been able to figure out the enemy going through walls thing (that'll have to be left for the final submission) but for now lets just say the enemy is a ghost, cuz why not.

#SmallGameStudio I thiiink I got most of the most important parts of my game working. Just gotta focus on making more assets to fill out the house and fixing all the bugs. But it’s playable at least!

#SmallGameStudio ok I got the chase mechanic to work but the enemy ai still keeps either going through walls or getting stuck on them...also having issues getting the enemy's sprite to change between the chase and patrol sequences too. Fix one thing and another breaks, gotta love coding

#SmallGameStudio it's slowly coming together...kind of. Still trying to figure out how to make the chase mechanic work. I'm a bit worried about the house layout though, it doesnt really allow for a lot of places for the player to escape from the enemy ai...

#SmallGameStudio debating between 1st or 3rd person camera view for my game. Both have pros and cons. It would be cool to be able to switch between the two but that might be out of my coding abilities for this project lol

#SmallGameStudio so I’m having some (a lot) of trouble with coding…currently trying to figure out how to make the enemy ai patrol a certain path without clipping through objects. The walking part is working but the character keeps going through walls and floating? 😅

#SmallGameStudio Slowly progressing on my final. Working on art firs since that's easier than coding lol. Look at that cute little hamster. Surely it can't be some awful monster, right?

#SmallGameStudio Here's my 3 pitches for my final! While we can only make one game i definitely want to try making all of these ideas at some point bc i think it would be a lot of fun.

#SmallGameStudio we played through a few of the Project 3 games last Thursday and all of them were so cool! One of my favorites was Wen’s game Heartbeat, I really liked the two person gameplay.

#SmallGameStudio been thinking of a few game ideas for my final pitch, there’s a lot I want to try doing but i don’t know how feasible some of them are given the time span we have and the time I have to work on stuff. Would making all the assets on my own be too ambitious?

#SmallGameStudio Project 3 is (mostly) done! It's working on on window and in browser. Haven't tested on Mac yet but hopefully it works there too. Now just have to pretty up the itch page with a nice banner and cover and I think everything will be good to publish 😆

#SmallGameStudio don't mind me just building my clone army in my project 3 game....

#SmallGameStudio One of the Pecha Kucha's today was on Violet Elder. A lot of her games are very personal and meaningful. kind of makes me think of the articles we read about empathy games. I wonder what she would think about her games being considered as empathy games?

#SmallGameStudio Slowly progressing on my Project 3. I'm having trouble getting one of the main mechanics I want to implement to function correctly 😅 The game is still functional without it, but hopefully I'll be able to figure that out, since I think it would make the gameplay more interesting

#SmallGameStudio So while working on my Project 3 I've run into a slight problem...I don't know how to make the sphere not have shading. Removing the light source does the job but makes the colors super dark which I don't want. Maybe I have to change the direction of the light?

#SmallGameStudio playing through a bunch of the Arcade 3 games gives me a lot of inspiration for my Project 3. It's really cool how these games were able to convey so much meaning through only a few simple 2D shapes. Excited to start working on Project 3, not so much coding though...

#SmallGameStudio Game 3 for Arcade 3 is Freedom Bridge. Died on the bridge the first time through. Tried just speed running it the second time in case taking too long is what caused me to die the first time, but it didn't work. The price of freedom I guess.

#SmallGameStudio Played The Marriage for Arcade 3. Ngl I was a little confused at first about how to play the game so I had to read the instructions on the website. Once I figured it out though it was really cool. Crazy how some squares and circles can convey so much.

#SmallGameStudio played this game called 恋(Lian), which was one of the games for Arcade 3. It's a multiplayer game on one screen where you each control a different color square. It was cool how the screen would get more distorted the longer the squares are separated.

#SmallGameStudio played through all the Project 2 games that I wasn't able to get to in class today. Everyone did such an amazing job on their projects! It was so fun seeing the variety of ideas and executions that people went for. Really inspiring to see the creativity
