Analysis tells us that 'reform voters' (not a monolith) want:
✅ Shared prosperity including better public services
✅ More honest politics
✅ More agency in decisions that affect them
But this is all hard work, so governments *choose* to hear:
🤡 Punching down on people who are unpopular.

Prime example of how the right (with some success) *continuously* shifts the goalposts on what 'controlling immigration' looks like. There is no value, strategic or otherwise, in trying to chase them but progressive leadership requires a progressive vision.
