I do have two paths to chose from, and my energy is currently torn in two directions. I'm focusing on work more than I should when my dissertation is looming and incomplete. To get stability and feel like I'm headed in the right path, I need to redirect my energy towards that.

I need to be sure of my path and put the brunt of my attention on that - use my tools and focus with skill and purpose. The card is an admonition to not lose the joy or spontaneity in life - to maintain my childlike wonder at jumping in puddles, even while focused on the mission ahead.

A wand is a directional and intentional tool - you have to point it somewhere and focus to use it, so one must be aware of where your attention lies.

The six- two parallel paths to take or two factions on opposite sides of a field. It's a stable number - the cardinal directions with a z axis.

This 6 of cups indicates innocent joy and having a good time with some nostalgia for the past thrown in.

A compass requires skill to use and an idea of what my course is, but a chance or opportunity to reach a dream.

I'm also very lucky that my professional life corresponds almost exactly to a lot of my values so it's easy to intentionally use aspects of my work as a devotional act.

my work passwords are variations on a relevant deities name (epithets, etc) and I've got an incredibly subtle mini altar under my altar (a small stone w some pertinent associations, an electric tea light in a luminary a coworker made and gave everyone, etc.).
