The Complete History of Sonic SatAM
@satamhistorian.bsky.social
A book compiling the complete history of Sonic SatAM, from its inception, its revival attempts, and its amazing fandom!
Nice, I really love the vibe of this! I'm a huge fan of James as well, congrats. I'd love to see some of your WIPs and sketches you did for this cover, could you maybe share them in a post? :)

I think it's pretty cut and dry.

misinformation, but I don't really see that? There's plenty of early Archie Sonic Grams (based on the SatAM story bible) also saying he was a fox, and the French dub is an officially licensed version of SatAM and the DVD set is an official licensed release of it approved by all parties involved.

Yes, this is confirmed, believe or not! Seems wiki editors keep trying to revert it despite the cited sources.

I think Jim Carrey is a very impressive visual actor. The Mask was originally gonna cost a lot more to produce because they needed the main guy to emote like a cartoon character with extremely cartoony expressions. Jim Carrey could just do that naturally, reducing the CGI budget needed.

LMAO

What's the project you're doing that has the same concept?

But all the art and story materials I posted here were part of his original plans/pitch.

Just want to clarify that this pitch did not properly get pitched to Sega. Due to various reasons, despite progress being made on concept art, story, and plans for a video, the project ended up getting put on hold and eventually scrapped.

Some people seem really interested in MysteriousAnimatorX's Sonic SatAM revival pitch, so here's some of his old forum posts revealing the story for the project and going over some plot ideas he had in mind:

Additionally, in an interview I did with him, he said "It would have been a planetary search for more freedom fighter essentially to raise an army with some huge war arc."

Additionally, while a lot of forum posts are lost to time, here's a few more details I know about:
- Antoine would be given a tail.
- Tails would have a big role, although he wouldn't get his plane as seen in the games (although some early forum posts suggested he considered it?)

of MA-X's concept art for the pitch! It's mainly just two illustrations of Sonic's potential design in the series, along with a few more Planet Mobius concept art pieces, but it's extremely cool to see more of this pitch preserved!

Only one piece of concept art previously survived of this pitch, which featured the Planet Mobius, even though we knew more concept art was made. Well, after some sleuthing, @alexhedgefox.bsky.social was able to find a now dead wiki page on archive.org which preserved the rest-

the Freedom Fighters traveling across the world trying to build an army of Freedom Fighters with fellow groups positioned on the different continents of Mobius. SatAM-ified versions of Knuckles, Rouge, Big the Cat, the Downunda Freedom Fighters, etc, we're planned to be included.

"Sonic: Freedom Fighters" was intended to be a continuation of the original Sonic SatAM series. First focusing on Naugus and Snively as the main villains, before moving the focus back onto Robotnik and his robot stewards who are in charge of each continent of Mobius, it'd follow-
