3/3 The protocol produces edited plants as early as the T0 transformed generation, and stable, non-transgenic lines at T1 generation.

2/3 The use of a fluorescent marker enabled rapid, non-destructive detection of transformed shoots. Combining this approach with a grafting strategy overcame the difficulties of root regeneration, a major obstacle in pea.

1/3This innovative protocol, based on the use of the CRISPR-Cas9 system, enables edited plants to be obtained rapidly. The protocol is based on the editing of the TENDRIL-LESS gene, the mutation of which generates a phenotype that can be easily observed by the transformation of tendrils intoleaflets
