When you negotiate with hostage takers who want to kill the hostage, you better be on your best game. This is NOT Dems best game. Not even close. You'd never know there was an election less than one week ago where the Party in power had their asses handed to them, where voters blamed them for the shutdown, & where voters were aware of just how unserious of negotiators Repubs were because they stood idly by while the regime illegally fired workers, destroyed agencies. Feeling pretty damn disgusted right now.

1/2 One major mindset correction for Bill Ferguson. Dems are NOT rigging anything; they are countering election rigging that Repubs initiated in Texas. The effects of such rigging will corruptly skew the voters' choice over which Party holds the balance of power in the House for the rest of the country, which will impact MD! The election rigging occured when an already heavily gerrymandered Texas legislature rammed through its own partisan changes. They could care less what their own state's voters wanted. Exemplifies autocracy. So far, Dems aren't ramming their counter through on their own. They are taking this to the voters via a referendum on the ballot. The people have a say. Exemplifies democracy. So do not argue some false equivalency! These two scenarios are not alike! 2/2 We need to stop allowing the perfect to be the enemy of the good . . . or in other terms, stop arming yourself with righteousness against autocrats when they are armed with napalm against democracy. We need to use all the tools at our disposal to win this battle, while we still can. Don't be an impediment that could cost us the war.

Does anyone actually believe it is a coincidence that this case was scheduled on the day after the election (so as to take the pulse of the nation)? Does anyone not believe the scotus is going to throw Trump a life line by overturning his tariffs? The fact that they now seem to care about presidential overreach, came back to this century, and are actually making sense, feed my suspicions.

Just like the Supremacy Clause should be null & void when the fed govt is being weaponized against a state's citizens, so too should the Speech and Debate Clause that protects Congr Repubs from civil/criminal liability when they willingly cede power to the Exec Br, then sit idly by while the Exec Br commits unconstitutional acts, tyrannically weaponizes the govt against the people, & continues to make us less safe. The fail safe is voting them out. But Congr Repubs are trying to rig elections to prevent their own removal (the only power bestowed upon the people that forces accountability)! It is criminal conduct, not legislative acts! We must demand change, for accountability.

This probably doesn't need to be said, but there is a difference. ICE, & other fed empl supporting ICE, are there on their own volition w/ no contracts forcing future committed service. They draw in the worst of America to carry out this regime's racist policies. By now, they are a racist anti American monolith. National Guard are committed by an 8 year contract that likely preceded this regime & do not get to weigh in on assignment. They are not a monolith, their intent was patriotism & they are now being used as pawns by this regime. Focus your anger on ICE and this regime - not the National Guard.

If you live in the state of Virginia and you are undecided about the AG candidates in Nov's election, let me make this crystal clear for you. This office is crucial in defending our state and its citizens against federal tyranny and the AG will have broad discretion in which cases to bring forth. In other words, if you want a check on Trump's power, you need to vote for Jay Jones (D)! DO NOT SPLIT TICKET! We need this legal check on Trump. And if you believe the latest scandal involving Jay Jones should preclude him from serving, just remember, the sitting Commander in Chief has said and done much worse and he pays no repercussions. Hold your nose and vote for Jones! Put a check on Trump's power and protect Virginia.

I see all the signs of how effective the No Kings Rallies have become & just how scared shitless Repubs are of the people/accountability! Look at what they are saying & doing. It speaks volumes to me that they felt compelled to coordinate a propagandist message in advance of tomorrow's rally in an effort to get a jump on the narrative. But numbers don't lie! Only Repubs! What I'd like to know is, is Mike Johnson being blindly obedient or does he know something? If he knows something, what does he know and when did he learn it? Neither is a good look for him. He's either in violation of the Constitution as an autocrat enabler, or in violation of the law as an accessory after the fact on a criminally mishandled pedophilia case. The entire thing reeks of entitled wealthy using their fortunes to cover up their very illegal, but entitled taste for middle schoolers.

While authorities have a difficult time identifying who Thomas Jacob was. I do not. The "Trump 2024" sign on the suspect's fence and the two petitions he signed (one to curtail emergency powers amid COVID and the other to restrict abortion access in Michigan) lets the cat out of the bag. It's not coincidental Trump & Repubs' stopped politicizing it.

Our local tv station interviewed attendees of a smaller Charlie Kirk candlight vigil held in Williamsburg and every single person spoke about love, open dialogue, tolerance - all things opposite of hatred and vengeance. So for Trump, Vance, Miller, etc to speak of violence and hatred to a larger group under the guise of Christianity, you know full well what they are attempting to do! I really hope Kirk's followers cue in to how they are being exploited and manipulated to serve Trump's political agenda.

This is unsustainable. These weak pathetic ceos/boards are preemptively doing the bidding of a tyrant, and in doing so, suppressing freedom of speech. Their self serving decisions show cowardice and are anti democratic. I am weighing my options on how I can use my purchasing power to say,🖕 to all parties! In self preservation, they are taking our country to a dangerous place and we shouldn't reward them! In the interim, I hope the Trump regime orders every single one of these ceos to strip down naked and dance up and down Fifth Ave holding signs that read, "I 💩 my pants for tyrants"! They deserve it.

All of Trump's Jan 6th pardons, and any subsequent pardons he made that helps him hide his own criminal activity, should be reversed on Jan 20, 2029. In spite of this corrupt Roberts' Court, NO ONE is above the law - not even their UnExTh king! Remove problematic members of the court if they are incapable of seeing that. Remake court that is representative of America.

I think the right wing might have a really big problem on their hands (as they attempt to scapegoat the Dems). There are now three known shooters (ear shooter, Mar-a-Lago, & Kirk) on record who were either Repub, or came from Repub homes - all disillusioned with the facistic maga brand! None were Dems. All had direct or indirect ties to the Repub Party. No amount of scapegoating will change those facts!

In the eyes of the FBI director, can you tell me who is valued more: 1. The lives of two Dem state political leaders, their spouses, & a long list of additional potential Dem targets. OR 2. One Repub political activist. Answer: The FBI offered a $50k reward for Boelter, the right wing extremist who killed Minn House Speaker & her husband & injured a state Senator & his wife. Whereas they are currently offering a $100k reward for the shooter who killed Repub activist Charlie Kirk & remains at large. I call bullshit! Is anyone still confused over why we are so pissed off?
