Your "history" is someone else's lived experience.

Midwestern transplant from a blue dot; Democrat, Jewish "Auntie," adult conversations only. No DMs please, unless I know you.
Move On is data mining and hardly an objective source.

Unless you were in a coma last week, Dems won big.

The DSA win is still a win, but if that’s how well you do in NYC?

You can’t fix stupid.

Don’t blame him. That is cold.

For reasons unknown, you needed to live at least a mile “as a crow flies” to take the bus that had a stop a few yards away.

Why a crow when bipeds walk on streets and sidewalks? 🤷‍♀️

Not at all.

I don’t know where you got that figure, but why would you think politicians who work closely with their colleagues aren’t in a position to elect leadership?

Some popular ones are more of a solo act, some others build strong relationships, and they all have different strengths.

Critical thinking isn’t their strong point.

That was a faculty member (!)

You’re committing multiple felonies in a building with running water; you’ll be fine without catering service.

😆😂💀 I’m dying here!
November 10, 2025 at 3:21 PM
I don’t think it was. Maybe a wake up call, and not only for Republicans.
November 10, 2025 at 3:10 PM
That’s a deal breaker.
November 10, 2025 at 3:07 PM
Yes and no. It doesn’t function as envisioned, and it’s been a while since Congress fulfilled its only real obligation.

We won’t end up with a budget, but there’s a lot to discuss before the nearly inevitable 11th hour CR/reconciliation.

Not an ideal way to function, but we manage.
November 10, 2025 at 3:07 PM
Not without anything, but not without addressing key issues like the ACA. Forcing the House to reopen gives us time before the usual 11th hr. drama.

Republicans had a wake up call last Tuesday. DSA “progressives” should have had one, too. Leadership and negotiators have a lot to discuss privately.
November 10, 2025 at 3:00 PM
Probably not today, but I imagine Congressional leadership and negotiators have a lot to talk about before 12/31.
November 10, 2025 at 2:46 PM
Temporarily, yes, but that was a Congressional appropriation. The underlying issue is what constitutes Executive Overreach.

Don’t think that immunity resolved that one. Neither does Youngstown with its five concurrences and three justice dissent.

I don’t think SCOTUS wants to touch it.
November 10, 2025 at 2:44 PM
He’d appeal, but I don’t think four justices want to take the case.

You nailed it. Rs are willing to break with him, and forcing the House to reconvene is where they might break ranks after enough posturing.

The annual 11th hour CR/reconciliation goes down to the wire so nothing’s final.
