When you feel hopeless, make something. It’s hard to believe that one voice is going to make a difference, but very easy to believe you knitted a sock (or baked cookies for your neighbors, or made a painting of a dragon, or sewed a dress that makes you feel good) because there is the thing you made.

I’ve gone cross country skiing 3 of the last four days because we finally have snow. When I talk to people about Montana, one of the things I like to share is the way we embrace the mantra of Carpe Diem here. When the sun is shining, make hay, when the snow is fresh on the ground put on skis.
