We’ll never escape the problem of the foundational rot in imperial thinking while so many are trying so hard to ignore it

It’s grounding (and also devastating) to remember that for many peoples the world over, we are already very much in the “post-apocalyptic” space and it’s my privileged position and perspective that made this precipice feel as it does.

…and that I wasn’t running on all cylinders before, ergo I won’t suddenly have a lot more energy/capacity and it is reasonable to feel rather awful when the experience smacks of bailing out a sinking boat with a thimble.

It’s a pretty tough scene but I think it’s very important to remember that while those threats are both real and worrisome they are also bait.

“The party of values” is eye roll worthy at this point, but it has always been the party that wanted to 𝘵𝘢𝘭𝘬 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 values because when that’s where we’re focused we’ll be less focused on how healthcare is bankrupting us.
