Qualcomm PR guy. Barely recovering journalist. X-Men. Atari. NYC. Nothing I say should ever be considered approved by my company in any way.
I compared the iPhone 16e (left) to a OnePlus Nord 4 (right) using our Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3. And pretty consistently in those weak signal situations, with a Vodafone Spain SIM card, the Snapdragon gave a better connection - sometimes, when the iPhone couldn't get a connection at all.

But of course, real-world testing matters too. So I went all over the Barcelona metro area, seeking weak signals - the kinds of places where your phone can show bars, but you can't quite connect. Like a comics museum with a Wolverine exhibit, or ... a random streetcorner outside a pizza place.

I spent yesterday testing the Apple iPhone 16e against a Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 phone. Yes, I am biased! But I'm also not wrong. First of all, the C1 is definitely short of our modem lineup on features. Here's a handy chart our engineers came up with based on the analysis they did over the weekend.

Have totally thought of getting my hair cut here but they wouldn't get the joke, and thank God for that (yes, it's a diminutive of Enrique ... among other things)

Less snarky, though ... look at the land use around Arrowhead Stadium in general, zoomed out. It's low density, single level light industrial, highways. Land is probably MUCH cheaper there than building and maintaining taller structures.

I went to the NRF 2025 Big Show to see the Qualcomm booth (our booth!) and found a big new trend in how we're going to pay for things in the future! What do you think?

I'm watching Season 2 of PANTHEON, a show which is illicit for Americans to watch for the stupidest reason possible, and it is the only fiction I've seen recently where the creators understand recent AI technology. Highly recommended.

The Red Magic 10 Pro has a Snapdragon 8 Elite, will be available globally including in the US, and costs ... $649?! I had to read that a few times to make sure I was right, but I'm right. (This post is not specifically sponsored by Snapdragon, my entire life is.)

Seriously, does City of Yes in NYC fix whatever the incentive is to have an underutilized single story drive through Wendy's around the corner from a school in a high density neighborhood with a severe housing shortage? And what WAS the incentive?
