My name is Sascha and I'm senior software engineer at the danish company JYSK. Although I live in Germany, I work closely with my danish colleagues.

I've been working as a frontend developer since 2000 and I like to use web standards and tend to avoid frameworks.
I really love CSS ❤️

I can see a lot of Tech people are on bluesky only. It would be really nice, if they would bridge their account to the fediverse. Or crosspost. Sadly I see abandoned accounts on Mastodon, because they moved to Bluesky.

(Yes, I tried Openvibe, but I enjoy the simplicity of "one account" apps more)

Switched away from Pocket to Instapaper.
Pocket seems to be a news site lately, where your saves are only a byproduct. The experience on Instapaper is so much better, without all the distractions.

(I would have kept Omnivore, but they decided to shutdown in favor of joining an AI-company 🙁)

I made a test to see if a screen reader will still wait for the main thread to be unblocked before announcing already-visible HTML content and... yep. Making a page "paint" long before it's interactive makes a page feel faster for sighted users, but not everyone. We need some inclusive perf metrics.

I really need to redesign my own website and put in some more modern CSS, than my styles from several years ago.

My tweets are finally history. Removed all of them using:
github.com/lucahammer/t...

And then I also removed all favourites and made the account private. It’s a relief.
