We are a relatively small anaesthetic department @lgtnhs.bsky.social compared to some of the giant tertiary trusts. But we punch well above our weight and so glad to see this recognised by @rcoanews.bsky.social with ACSA accreditation.

By your own admission, you have at times been like a broken record. Whether in an official position or just as an individual, your core message hasn't changed. SAS drs and their careers deserve parity of esteem. You deserve these awards and more. 👏 👏 👏

When the short term interests of some [trusts who do not want to pay SPA or emp pension contribs] clash with others [drs right to a proper contract], ultimately pts suffer. Hope SAS don't become the passenger pigeons of the NHS.

This was a letter from the SAS Advocate Network, I just happened to submit it. The Advocates are disppointed to see the lack of thought given to the use of SAS contracts in what is a workforce crisis. New Specialty Drs posts are not being created and too few Specialists are being appointed.

Huge congrats to colleagues at QEH and UHL anaesthetic departments @lgtnhs.bsky.social . So many have contributed to acheiving the @rcoanews.bsky.social standards but one person has been the driving force, Dr Jonathan Short.
