There are a lot of niche platforms out there that only exist for specific content. For fanfiction there is Archive of our Own (AO3) and then some fandoms have their own websites, like fimfiction.net for My Little Pony.
Something I've noticed, though, is that original fiction suffers from anonymity.

I'm so sorry, we lost one of ours a while ago and it still comes up. But remembering his goodness helps it not hurt as much.
