Friday, March 13, 2020-Day 1 of COVID lockdown a large tree fell in my yard narrowly avoiding damage. It was surreal and ominous and inspired this poem. It turns out the “smoke in the summer hills” this poem foretold would be a family tragedy.

I’m no stranger to grief. These past 2 weeks are reminiscent of what I experienced in the aftermath of losing my mom and sister to DV in 2020. Here is a snap of my personal grief journey. Will apply lessons learned to this new grief journey we’re all collectively on.
