A millennial who isn't great with social media, likes video games (especially "retro") and doesn't have enough time to play them.
Favorite thing for sure is never having to go a gas station.

Had no idea this was a thing. I found a reddit post showing one is opening at Mall of Georgia. I haven't been there in over 20 years... may have to make a visit depending what shows up in there.

I did $0 down on my Gen 2 R1T Dual Standard. Due-at signing costs were around $3800 ish. 2-year lease with 12k miles. I think my as-configured price was that same $75.9k and my lease is $1,036/month. Mostly enjoying it (except that it's been in the SC for almost 3 weeks now with no updates...).

Man I'm struggling hard on color choice. All my analogue consoles are black and I feel like I should go with that to continue the trend in my modern fpga lineup... but that PlayStation gray.....

When I was younger I remember the offputting feeling of having the "lesser" version on a multi-console release. Looking back at it now, it did make things a lot more interesting with just how different the "same" game could be from one platform to the next. I miss the existence of those differences.

Then in either 99 or 2000 I got to spec one out during high school. It was a Dell, Pentium 3 550mhz, 128mb ram (I think...), Voodoo 3 3000, Sound Blaster (of some kind).

First PC I built myself was an AMD Athlon Thunderbird, 1ghz, probably 256mb ram and I think I moved that same Voodoo 3 to this..

Heck yeah!

I was too young to understand what made up the original 286 we had. All I remember was if you shook the table too hard it would freeze. After that I remember having an IBM 386 with Windows 3.1.

Early 90s we had a Compaq Presario that was ~$3K from Circuit City. 100mhz Pentium, 16mb ram.

XVI was so good! I had no expectations for it because the first reveal looked incredibly dull and generic (to me). I can't believe how wrong I was - what a great game with great characters!

Played through the first three worlds tonight! Thanks for the recommendation!

I hadn't heard of Kitsune Tails before but after looking through its Steam page I totally see the SMB3 influence. I'll check it out, thanks!

That's a tough question! There are better games from the era I'll name from but I always enjoy playing Contra III: The Alien Wars. I've never legitimately beaten it but I never get tired of it. You just helped me realize what I want to play for the rest of the evening!

What about yours?!

Woof on that shipping issue... hopefully they're having the shipping company pick up the stools directly from that person's house. I ended up giving my stools to goodwill. They were too short for me to be comfortable so I picked up some others that worked out way better for me.

Review is spot on. I just realized that was me that you interfaced with regarding the Jamma induced audio issue! 😃(Man that was so frustrating to figure out! lol)

I am enjoying it but I can't really recommend this product to just anyone right now. Definitely requires certain skillsets to enjoy.

Heck yeah! What kind of filling was going on in those pierogis?

Double heck yeah for half day!

I did! I really enjoyed their art style approach for bringing it to the modern era. Definitely needed some help from online with that one too haha. :)
