I'd say give Act 2 a try then. Because there's a big plot twist that happens at the end that sorta clears some things up, plus you'll also be spending time with a new character, in which the game establishes social links for him with the rest of the cast.

We also see how characters deal with the trauma of living in this world with no way out, with Jax and Ragatha in particular this latest episode. And there's also a possible hint for something happening soon from that last bit of the episode, so we'll see what happens next.

As for why they haven't tried to escape, it's implied from the beginning that they already tried everything that they could, so they just gave up on that idea and try to live as best they can under their circumstances.

I think the show is more like a slice of life anime, where we're just watching the characters interact with each other, see how they go about their day to day activities, and learn more and more about them.

I don't know if you can call Natural Upgrade a BE comic. I mean, she BARELY got slightly bigger by the end. Hopefully they make a second part to it, where she finally grows for real.
