And I'm glad there's a niche for it, but they asked why people didn't like it, and that was why. There isn't enough hard scifi. I'm tired of the loose goosey hand wave it away. Give me more of the Martian.

I loved it.. until the ending. I was enjoying the hard sci-fi aspect and then they threw in "the power of love" and I was like eh. That was my gripe. It isn't a bad movie for it, but it set up a very different vibe in the two halves. Felt like a cop out.

That's probably a Tiktok holdover. There were a bunch of videos right before the election of people claiming that they were voting for Trump because Kamala was pro genocide. There was one account in particular leading the charge, but I can't remember her name.
