in the 90’s, I made several rayon challis dresses that simply fell apart in the wash. Now I always use french seams to contain the wiggly, ravelly mess that is the seam allowances. Why do all the fun fabrics have to be so difficult?

It’s a good time to buy some basics that can be adapted into slopers. I’ll miss the designer Vogue and the vintage reprints the most.

as a tall-ish person, many of my historic dress have ruffles like this. I recommend Ikea sheer curtains if you want a scalloped eyelet that’s long enough for a regency dress. most folks can get a whole dress from one panel.
