Frankencat purse goes to see Frankenstein. Went on an hour and half adventure to find a theater playing @realgdt.bsky.social 's gorgeous film, and it was so worth it. Stunning, heartbreaking, and so clearly full of love for Mary Shelley's work. I'm delighted I got to see this on the big screen.

Not feeling very ready for StokerCon, BUT I'm excited to see everyone! I'll be moderating Fowl Play: Birds in Horror (I'm thrilled this panel idea was accepted 🪶🐦). I'm delighted to be a panelist on Runnin' With the Devil (music and horror! 🖤). On Sunday, I'll be teaching a Horror U. class!

Together, we will review the differences between poetic prose vs. purple prose, engage in discussions on the subjectivity that comes along with poetic descriptions in exposition, and complete exercises that will add unique flavor to one’s writing. Through the examples and activities in class, you’ll learn how to wield the poetic as a powerful tool to create lush moments in horror, and to better engage readers through imagery that explores the senses.
