I do not support the cuts that are being proposed, but we need to make sure our basis for our argument is accurate so it’s not discredited.

Social Security Retirement benefits are technically entitlement programs. We are “entitled” to them if we met the required number of quarters during our working years, and paid Medicare and Social Security taxes. Our ability to receive the benefits are not impacted by our assets or income.
