This new version of the political game requires a very different response than the ordinary one of waiting for thermostatic backlash to return power to you, & you simply hold onto it.

If Democrats have power returned to them, they'll have to dismantle the Trumpian presidency & refound democracy.

Clearly it would be a constitutional crisis if the executive branch, states, and civil society start to abide by a law without the Senate's assent. But on the range of constitutional crises, how does it differ from the one we're already in?

This administration has shown that the conventional interpretations of the Constitution are only as good as the power to compel obedience to them. So what happens if the House passes a bill, puts it on the President's desk, and the President signs it?

what unites plutocrats and populists is that they are both *rent-seekers*--plutocrats are economic rent extractors who want to shore up class hierarchy while populists are social rent extractors who want to shore up status hierarchies
