Every once in a while I remember that people ran hoses through their bedroom windows to fill up a giant bag of water to sleep on, and I’m still so mesmerized by the thought.

Just saw a Christian complaining online about Muslims that dare ask an establishment to avoid the cross contamination of their food with pork products, because “halal restaurants exist” and not everyone believes what they believe.
And man, I can’t wait to tell him about private Christian school.

Headed home after a week spent with one of my best friends and her family in LA. I don't have family, so sometimes I struggle when witnessing nurturing, compassionate familial relationships up close because it reminds me of my lack.
But I’m leaving this trip feeling grateful and included.

Today, I visited a church in a high-crime area of CA to take photos for a building campaign my church is supporting. At one point, the pastor joked, letting the congregation know I was there for photos, not from the parole department. 🙃
