To be clear—noncitizens absolutely have a First Amendment right to protest. I’m just talking about the more practical risk analysis.

the perhaps frustrating but standard response to questions about noncitizens protesting is “talk to an immigration attorney about your individual circumstances.” The risk analysis varies greatly based on the nature of the protest and the details of immigration status.
