I love representing the Organ Mountains. I see all the plants and animals who live there as part of my constituency. I will do what I can to protect our national monument.

Thanks to all the neighbors who came out today!

I joined more than a hundred Southern New Mexicans in proclaiming our love for our Organ Mountains-Desert Peaks National monument this morning.

We will stand up to protect our lands where we hunt, hike, celebrate and pray.

The Trump administration wants to sell off public lands to the highest bidder, and is targeting the Organ Mountains-Desert Peaks National Monument specifically.

The Trump Administration and House Republicans in Washington are planning to make you give up more money so their rich buddies can get wealthier.

Call your state representatives and senators tell them to stand up for you.

This massive pile of swag is the stuff lobbyists gave me during the legislative session as they attempted to build relationships with me. /1

Hey folks! I had the chance to talk with Jonny Coker at KRWG Public Media about the legislative session. He asked thoughtful questions about the governor’s veto of my bill that would have brought transparency to lobbying and other issues including public safety and medical malpractice reform. /1

I’ll be discussing the legislative session at a town hall in Chaparral tonight – Monday, April 14 at 6 p.m. at the Betty McKnight Center. And on Thursday, April 17, I’ll be joining other legislators for a forum at the DACC East Mesa campus in Las Cruces at 6 p.m. 1/2

Hello, I want to let you all know that the governor vetoed House Bill 143, the lobbyist activity report legislation I sponsored with Senator Jeff Steinborn.

Hey everyone! I brought a cold home with me from the legislative session. I’m getting back on my feet and have a few posts coming up to tell you more about my work in the Roundhouse. Please share and comment!

First up is House Bill 214 - The Doula Credentialing Act.

I went to the Hands Off protest in Las Cruces. At least 1,000 people were there to rally and protect our Social Security, our public lands and our Constitution.
I took an oath to protect and defend the US and NM constitutions, and I take that pretty damn seriously. I’m glad so many us do too.

As many of you have heard, there was a mass shooting at Young park in Las Cruces last night. It happened just after 10 p.m. while we were in the Roundhouse doing our work on the last night of the session. Three people are dead, including a 16-year-old boy, and 15 were injured. /1

Hello House District 53 and Southern NM! The session is about to end, and in 60 days we were able to accomplish a lot for New Mexico. I’m planning on organizing a couple of town halls to talk about issues more in-depth in the coming months.

I have the best news! The House “concurred” with the Senate last night on House bill 143! That means they agreed with a Senate amendment, and the bill now heads to the governor.
March 20, 2025 at 7:36 PM
Hi everyone! I’m excited to share that the Senate has approved my bill to require greater transparency from lobbyists!
March 18, 2025 at 11:51 PM
This morning the Senate Tax, Business and Transportation Committee approved my legislation to require lobbyists to tell you how they’re influencing what happens in your state capitol!
March 16, 2025 at 3:14 AM
In the tradition of the journalists I’m seeking to protect, I’m going to get right to the news: House Bill 153, my legislation to update the state’s outdated shield law that protects journalists, won’t be enacted this session.
March 13, 2025 at 7:31 PM
I have exciting news! The House passed my bill to increase lobbyist transparency in the Roundhouse on Tuesday! /1
