I listened to the podcast when it was released ~5 years ago. Had to pull over in my car 10 minutes before getting to work to have a good cry during the final episode

Alt text, since I hit post before adding…

This is Not a Drake Podcast

Made by two different groups but similar themes about how they are both products of the environments they came from to be successful. Don’t need to like the music of either to enjoy the podcast

The Sporkful is delightful too.

We went with a videographer over more florals and thank god we did because key family members missed our wedding with illness and they could watch it all later

Local to the venue is key because travel fees will get you. Nearly all do an included engagement session.
Find ones with photos you like, if their packages are too much, see who they used as a second shooter as they may be a less experienced but more affordable option

I feel it is a dick move to ask the bridesmaids to buy dresses and also pay for their own hair and makeup, we covered H&MU +70% of the cost of the dresses, with ones they could legitimately wear again (and they have).

Opted with a smaller bridal party as a result but everyone was fine with it

You don’t need to upgrade to the premium bar package and most venues will allow you to just upgrade 1-2 items

Wedding planning is an exercise in learning to say no and enforcing boundaries with everyone (vendors, family).

We had 5% of our total budget set aside for things we didn’t account for or things we thought would be nice add ons.

You don’t need table centrepieces, battery candles are good enough
