This is something we see in most disaster responses. Unless you know the exact needs and are in a position to fulfil them in a timely manner, please donate money rather than things. Money is more flexible, doesn't clog up valuable space, and won't end up in landfill!
Due to the sheer volume and different needs of fire victims, a lot of it ended up either in landfills or being shipped abroad.
