I went to see the play Mary Page Marlowe yesterday at the Old Vic in London. It was a play I didn’t know at all and thoroughly enjoyed it - Very interesting. Plus the usual proscenium arch had been discarded in favour of theatre in the round and the seats had more leg room and better sight lines.

As racists pretend to be patriotic, I looked at this statue of Edith Cavel (1915) yesterday (part of the war memorial in Charing Cross London) and read “patriotism is not enough. I must have no hatred or bitterness for anyone”. A timely reminder!

I spent a really interesting day at the People Dancing summer intensive for the Choreography of Consent workshop. Dancing, moving, discussing and pondering the notion of #consent

I spent a hot and sweaty but enjoyable day at The Place exploring the work of Geraldine Stephenson who worked with Rudolf Laban and carried on using Laban principles in all her movement teaching and directing. It was hosted by the Laban Guild International for whom I am a trustee.

Back from a couple of days in Oslo for a research consortium planning meeting. So stimulating to get in a room (in the wonderful Deichman public library) with hugely capable people. Sadly I contracted Noro virus probably on the way back and have been in bed all weekend not feeling capable one bit!

Dance Base’s Parkinson’s dance group in Edinburgh rock. Hugely fun class and then we co-created a movement score and danced some more. Very special.

I haven’t engaged with the other place since Musk took it over but yesterday I finally deactivated my account. I have no need or wish to engage on a platform that prioritises lies and hate and the warped ramblings of its owner #goodbye

I had a really heart warming morning celebrating the #LiveWellandDancewithParkinson’s project which created dance programmes where there was no provision for people living with Parkinson’s in U.K.. Having been involved in the initial set up it was lovely to see how valued it has been.

Wonderful to spend the morning with Live Well and Dance with Parkinson’s celebrating the end of the project that has seen a huge injection of dance work into areas not served with dance for people with Parkinson’s. #Parkinsons #dance #PeopleDancing #dancingbytheTyne
