12 years ago I was in Buenos Aires when they announced Jorge Bergoglio was to be the next pope — the energy was palpable. He was a man with many flaws running a religious institution that has struggled with scandal and identity in the 21st century but he was who the Catholic Church needed. QDEP

One of the best parts of living in DC is the shared childlike glee we all can feel when OPM recommends office closures for the city.
It takes me back to sitting in front of the TV waiting to see my schools name on the bottom ticker of the on the local news.

I know I have romanticized Buenos Aires for more than 1/3 of my life, but from the bottom of my heart, I truly believe most people want tree-lined walkable cities with easy access to frequent public transit.
