This! Loads of them, all different heights.

Why is it so slow? Why do they seem so conservative and unwilling to take risks? Why do they seem to favour debuts following a tried-and-tested formula in genres which are currently popular rather than those offering something new to broaden readers' choices/experience?

One day your life will be serialised on TV like Miss Austen and someone will be burning your Rymans 😉

It's a story about love, friendship across the generations, Lewy Body Dementia and finding your purpose.
For readers 14+ and anyone touched by dementia.
It's hard being in the slushpile so any support would be wonderful. Let's make the Year of the Snake our year. #WritingCommunity #amquerying #YA

Hi. I write YA. Fishsong is out on query:
Teenager Al’s purpose in life is to heal the world by recolonising the coral reefs in Australia. Or so he thinks. But when he meets 70-year-old Tom on his paper round, the healing takes a different turn & Al finds out it's not just the big deeds that count.

Uf, hard start to the day! I loved it. Watched with my hubbie and daughter. He cried his eyes out, I managed to stay glassy-eyed but dry-cheeked, she wondered what the hell was going on and freaked out 😅

Love pictures! All books should have them.

So true. Any writers out there, published or publishing hopefuls, please follow me and pull me into the community. Let's swim together in the same direction.

I would love to share Fishsong with you all, I just need an agent and a publisher to recognise how important the story is and how many readers aged 14+ would connect and be moved by it. Here's hoping 2025 is the year Fishsong can help shine a light on LBD #LewyBodyDementia #YA #teenfiction #kidlit

Still waiting for it to come to Spain 😅

My son (21) is currently in Japan and is collecting the cards of the manhole covers AND getting stamps from train stations. I think it's a great way to get people to go to places they wouldn't have thought of.

Ludwig, A Man on the Inside, Rivals (a little bit steamy!), Totally Completely Fine (a bit of edge but ultimately joyful), We Live in Time (ditto), Queen Charlotte (though you've probably watched it if you're into Bridgerton), Gentleman Jack - not sure of the channels but a search will find out ;-)

and how do you find ones related to the topics you're interested in? ie all things writing (esp YA), publishing, agents...

Yotsuba is amazing. My kids (now teens/20-sthgs) loved it and so did I. Don't stop after the first book.
