it makes sense that declining productivity hurts an economy/stifles growth. and why a savings prone population would lead to reduced productivity. but if the 2% inflation goal is meant to counter that effect—by discouraging savings and thereby necessitating people to produce more—that’s pretty grim

can anyone clear this up. are banks limited to lending deposits minus reserves? or are they limited by assets (including unpaid promissory notes) minus reserves? it’s not the same thing
