When you are on overload & take the time to walk to work & detour on the way....

Spring in the garden, the @Unify_Creative mural, the brutalist underbelly of the overpass, coots nesting, crested grebes fishing, a swan taking off & coming back to land on the water #Cardiff

Wet evening but warm one with the community coming together for an Iftar at Cardiff Castle organised by @AmanahCymru.

Loved Ramadan Moon - a play by local children.

Huw as council leader spoke in Welsh & English of the castle- a building built for war but now welcoming all in

Lovely evening at an iftar organised by the @DialogueSociety in @SeneddWales. @JaneHutt & @JennyRathbone spoke & an incredible dance display from Cardiff children.

Chance to reflect on what brings us together & as one of the speakers said unity is not the same as uniformity

Talking about space for children to play & how to involve children in shaping them matters. How we make Cardiff a "playable city". With all of the challenges I'm proud of our commitment to a Child Friendly Cardiff & recognition by UNICEF

We also involve children in the design of new play spaces. Incorporating ideas & listening to needs creating diverse provision for play.

It doesn't mean all play spaces reflect all of our ambitions but we want to involve children in shaping them. All lead by Cllr Burke

Including the Welsh Government's aim of a play-friendly Wales built into law through the "Play Sufficency Duty" where local authorities bring forward a Play Plan which MUST involve children in its development. Cllr Peter Bradbury will be bringing forward Cardiff's this year

Cardiff is the first city in the UK to be recognised by UNICEF as a Child Friendly City. This means they recognise our commitment to advance children's rights & have worked with UNICEF to put them into practice.

Last week I was honoured to be asked to join representatives from other cities across the globe at a forum on children organised by Tokyo Metropolitan Government. So why was I invited as a representative of Cardiff? 🪡
