Sad to hear that Raymond Hawthorne has died. Such an important part of NZ theatre history - he dedicated his life to the arts. (Not to mention being the patriarch of one of our great theatre families.) My condolences to Elizabeth, Emmeline, the rest of his family, friends and colleagues.

On the bright side, because a lot of what goes on seems less shocking now, it allows us to notice (and revel) so many more intricate and clever details about the show.

I've just finished rewatching THE HANDMAID'S TALE ahead of the final season which drops on April 8th. (Neon in NZ) Such a beautifully composed series: visually stunning from start to finish.

I last saw this as an 8 year old in a theatre in Christchurch. It's the first film I remember recognising NZ in. So excited to see it again - 40 years later - in a beautiful cinema like The Embassy, with Vincent Ward here too. #NZFilm

I just found out there's a sequel to MY SWEET AUDRINA & i'm caught between wanting to read it because i'm a completist & knowing it will be terrible because a) the real V.C. Andrews is dead b) I'm not 13 anymore c) rape incest & trauma is not my idea of a fun read.
