Heritage, Archaeologist, solidarity, she/her - hoping for more kindness, often anxious and sharp. Professionally garrulous. Living in Cardiff. Ageless, so no DMs
We can be happy that there may be only room for one paper with their shared editorial policy, but 'patriots' in their readership will surely be concerned about foreign influence

Fixed it for you. Idiots! If the exclusion is based on appearance then it will certainly impact cis folks as well as trans folks.

The single rose that blazes out its beauty in November echoing the colour of the larch against the blue sky, from my walk in Cardiff #TinyJoys

Screenshot without username because I'm trying to avoid arguing with strangers but this is such a reductive & dangerous view I can't not respond. Of course there's a distinction between desire & action, but it makes a difference if you have 'all kinds of fucked up shit in your head' about colleagues

Page nine repeats the statement with the figure but it's not clear what the question was, or even if it was a question rather than an analysis of focus group discussion. I mean, if you asked me 'how aware are you of the role of research at universities' I wouldn't choose 'fully aware'

I know we need to sort the BBC as the right attacks it, but they don't make it easy. Saw this headline, for 'what the papers say' and wondered which tabloid had used such inflammatory language about asylum. But when I looked though the headlines they included, none of them did >

So beautiful, needs to be shared with alt text

As I rapidly approach my 60th Birthday I am increasingly enraged by being called a 'kid' by folks that are younger than me because I support policies which threaten their unquestioned lives of privilege. Thomson is only 2 years younger than me, but she has had a much narrower life.

This is the educational background of Matlis, who represents her political interference as being about whether healthcare is 'data driven' it's not a bad education, but there's nothing about data in it. And clearly very little about critical thought either. But plenty to bolster entitlement

An excellent piece. But this bit is heartbreaking for its truth
November 9, 2025 at 11:26 AM
Interesting enough to add alt text so I can share

We could share #NotThePhoto this tree was a solid block of red - each leaf glowing. I took multiple shots, changing settings, but couldn't convince my phone's sensor to see it that way

Going to use this to describe the writing projects I have abandoned

Looking at the news I thought maybe my hope for a Mamdani win was just my bubble. The BBC vox pop definitely means Cuomo & gives Sliwa a good chance. But I guess that's why they use vox pops, they're easy to manipulate.
Al-Jazeera uses polls - Mamdani is 14 points ahead
It's the BBC in the bubble

But sadly, this is a post about the collapse of our information infrastructure (again) looking up more details produced this, which includes two unrelated images of monastic ruins as Dale Abbey. I think a machine picked up the arch bottom left and put them in the same set. 😥
