Stood alongside @angelaknapp.bsky.social & all 8 unions in LAUSD today to demand they prioritize students, schools, & education workers. @utlanow.bsky.social members have had 14 bargaining sessions with LAUSD with almost NOTHING to show for it. So today WE showed up for teachers & kids!

Back in August of 2022 I made a bunch of new friends when I directed my first film! It has been an amazing ride that started in 2021 and is just now wrapping up! We will premiere our film Laughing Again this FRIDAY online for everyone to watch! I cannot wait for it to be out in the world!

One of my favorite movies is Bull Durham. It’s got an Oscar-nominated screenplay & it’s a rom-com about baseball. This book by the writer & director was a terrific read, full of fun facts about his coming up in the minor leagues in the 1960s & a lot of behind the scenes of making the film!

I’m trying to feel helpful & remind folks that there are fall elections, including a very important one here in California. I know writing letters won’t change the world but I do know that words have power & I’m working with @votefwd.bsky.social to harness that power for good & for change.

Highly recommend doing something fun for yourself this weekend. This morning we went to a fall succulent workshop at a nursery. For an hour we were just focused on what little plant goes best where and how not to burn our fingers with the hot glue. Bonus: it was rainy! We got a little wet! In LA!

Highly recommend checking your vaccine status and getting anything you can updated while supplies are available. My sister @angelaknapp.bsky.social and I did COVID boosters today which you can get every 6 months. Flu vaccines are still available for this season as well!

Zoo Lights at the LA Zoo is really fun. Went last night, mix of families and adult groups, people take pics for the groups behind them, such a festive hour! (We were sans the 3 yr old who was scheduled to be with us so we were able to see the sights quickly!)
