Day 10/101
June 6, 2025 at 7:37 AM
Dropping a few of these in late, so here’s a thread of them:

Days 5-9 (just one version of each. Will get back to 2 soon.)

Day 4/101 of drawing + writing project — Cassandra's Curse. This one was born of frustrated thoughts and a conversation with a friend yesterday who was feeling this sense too.

Day 3/101 - three for three.
Symbols inspired by geometric marks in Niaux Cave in France. Thinking again on women and paleolithic cave art + mark making.

Drawing project where for 101 days I make art + write something with it

Day 2/101 making a drawing + writing everyday.

A wild snail eating.

I’m starting a 101 draw + write challenge for myself. This is pretty much just exploratory. I need to see what can come from just cutting loose and doing it. Giving myself this mini framing will (hopefully) help.

The tailor slips down his silken thread. Nimble touches glide along the taut line.
A bright bead of dew shimmers ahead.
Thirst, ever so much thirst in the early morning. He shall be quick. He shall be light.
He shall be sated.
The Tailor Licking Dew From Green Leaves - inspired by oracle deck draws.

Glimpse of the past 1: Sutton Hoo helmet

First in a series based around ideas about how archaeology shows us the past. It's fragmented, disconnected, out of time. The image can be vivid and rich in detail, but it’s still only a glimpse into a world we can't deeply know.

🎶Oaken leaves in the merry wood so wild, when will you grow greener?
Little drawing inspired by an old English round song. (The Girl with a Pearl Earring peers out)

It’s been an odd time. Depression grabbed me this winter and held me in a vise for months. Slowly, I crept out in spring. In May, I went with my sisters to Ireland (here is an instax of the Gallarus Oratory there). Now, I have spent the beginnings of summer with old friends.

All done! Still working on a title.

Mmm, the best part of rainy weekends in the woods: mushrooms. Near Tuxedo, NY.

So rainy here in NY that it hasn’t been light enough for me to get the best pics (so the colors seem a bit more gray/muted here), but I think this is done—just glancing at it from time to time before I call it.

Love doing a little values sketch with Procreate before beginning a painting. So helpful!

Good morning greeting from a neighbor. Leaned in to take a pic and their head snapped round to look right at me. 🌿🐜📷

Reasons I love the Met Cloisters: the plants, the pollinators, the columns, the very chill faces of evil.

Just a friendly reminder that this very fun rock formation in New York is a glacial erratic and NOT human made 🏺
